BigStash was the main platform I got involved with during my two-year Design Lead role at Longaccess—a tech startup focusing on cloud storage. It was a product enabling people to store files they rarely use through the use of a technology called cold storage.
I led design, created and maintained an evolving UI library and set of style guidelines, and worked closely with Software Engineers while contributing to product planning. The two main products I designed was the BigStash web app as well as a native app for Mac OS.
My task was to design an extremely simple and elegant interface that would camouflage all the complexities of the back-end, creating the perfect experience from onboarding, to everyday engagement with the product. I applied Human-Centred Design principles and embraced both positive and negative feedback in an attempt to perfect my work as the project kept evolving and growing continuously, reaching hundreds of thousands of users in just a few months.
